The Raindance Rave Festival returns at last, but in a new venue, Bagley's, it's been nearly a year and a half since the last one so I just couldn't wait for tonight, could Raindance return to their excellence?? I went to find out...

For the first time in ages I actually turned up early (around 9.30pm) and there was quite a large queue already, I had to wait for a few people so by the time we actually went down to the queue it was about 10.15pm and we were expecting the longest queue ever but when we got there, no one, there wasn't any one in the queue at all, where had they all gone? It looks like Raindance have done something no other promoter has ever done before (especially at Bagley's), they seemed to of got everyone in within five minutes of opening, it was a cold night and the last thing you wanted to do was queue for several hours waiting to get in, well done Raindance, just make sure you do the same at all future events.

Once in, we went straight to the hardcore arena, unfortunately it was in the smallest of the three large rooms (we are used to it being in the largest room at Future Dance) and the silly dance/seating platform in the middle of the arena didn't help, but apart from that everything seemed o.k. It seemed to take a good hour to fill up properly  which was just right because when it was time for Two'2 Company to do their first ever set the place was rammed and even though HB started playing some weird music he ended playing some stompin tunes and had the crowd nicely worked up and ready for them. They looked a little nervous when they first went on (you could really tell when they took the wrong needle of the wrong record) but after this they were fine, no, they were better than fine, they played the best set of the night, and the crowd seemed to love them, they played some excellent tunes including all three of their own tunes exclusively which went down a storm, and to top it all off MC Whizzkid turned up just in time to MC through their set, thank you Whizzkid!! All I can say is watch out, these are two DJs that are going to be big and you will be seeing a lot more of them!

I'm sorry but I'm now going to have my main moan of the whole night and guess who it involves, yes the bloody security... Once Two's Company had finished I went with them to their car, on my return to the venue I had to be searched again, and boy was I in for a surprise, the poxy security man seemed to think it was totally O.K and legal to put his hand straight down the front of my trousers, who the hell does he think he is, I know this isn't the fault of Raindance as the security is Bagleys responsibility but if they are to put on more events here then they need to sort this out, speaking to several other people in the night I find out I wasn't the only one this queer security tried to touch up, I was one of many, if I hear of this happening again then I will be going to the authorities to get this man struck off as he should in no way be a security guard. Please let me know if you had any problems with security.

Now I've got my moaning out the way I can get on with telling you how good the night actually was. Once I got back in we decided to check out the rest of the arenas, we went from arena to arena until we checked them all out (except the pussina room, I will tell you about that later), the only problem was which one to stay in, they were all rammed, they were all jumpin, and the music was pumpin, we decided to stay in the old skool for a while, I don't know who was playing but they were playing good and getting the crowd going, I'm not to sure about some of the dancers on stage though, what were they wearing??

When we went back into the Drum n Bass arena the music was total pants so we didn't stay in there too long, if I had found out who was on I would name and shame him because there is no way someone should get paid loads of money playing crap like that.

By this time I had asked several people if they knew where the pussina room was but no one knew where it was or if there was one, I was now beginning to think there wasn't a pussina room which really disappointed me as I wanted to meet up with some of the DJs which I hadn't seen since the last Raindance Rave Festival. I asked one more person and discovered it was in a room that I never even knew was there, I have been coming to Bagleys for ten years now and I have never seen this room, it was down by the bumper cars. It made my night as I went straight down there and bumped into several people I was looking for. Al Jay was on playing a blinder of a set as usual, the only problem with this arena was how empty it was, I don't think any one knew the arena was there.

After spending a while downstairs we went back upstairs to see the live PA Whizzkick in the old skool room, from what I remembered the last time they played at Raindance they were really good, what a pity they weren't as good this time, I don't know what they were playing at but they sounded terrible, just chucking in sample after sample which sounded all over the place, I've never seen an arena empty so fast, one minute the old skool arena was rammed solid, within two tunes Whizzkick had almost empted the room, even me, I couldn't take no more so of I went to the hardcore room.

To be honest I was having such a good night I never really took much notice of the DJs and MC's except the ones I have mentioned, and I never heard anyone complain except about Whizzkick. I never even got a chance to have a go on the bumper cars.

So from the beginning to the end, the whole night was in true Raindance style, excellent production except a few sound problems, the lasers looked brilliant in the old skool room, excellent entertainment, excellent bumper cars (or so I was told), excellent crowd, I never saw one bit of attitude all night.

Well done Raindance for putting in the effort and bring on the next Rave Festival (I've heard it's going to be back at the Drome, yeah!!)

Big shouts out to.. Dan for getting us there, Mike, Brittness & Vicstar the raver babes, Greg, Allan, Paul & Zoe, Al Jay, Matt J, Cristo-cheers for the CDs, and anyone I might have forgotten.

Extra Big shouts out to.. Two'2 Company for playing their first ever set and making us all proud, MC Whizzkid for making it there in time, and last but certainly not least all the Raindance crew for making it another night to remember.

REVIEW TWO

The Hardcore room was mental, out to everyone who went to Raindance, it was wicked seeing our mates there and all the cheesy grins. A massive big up goes to Two'2 Company for their first time appearance on the one's and two's, you both played a nutty set, also going out to the Cris-E-Manic, it's excellent to see a few girls getting up on the decks.

Kaos played some mental tracks in his set, sadly we missed hixxy (we had gone back to the car, we needed to sort our heads out before the journey home). And not forgetting the MCs Whizzkid and Wotsee.

Big shout out to MC Storm for taking the time to talk to us about his work for the hardcore scene.
